NAPAC Ongoing Activities:

1. Voter registration;

2. Preparation for citizenship;

3. Scholarship to needy students in Nepal;

4. Symposiums on domestic violence, suicide prevention;

5. Involvement in mainstream public life;

6. Making Nepali language a recognized foreign language in schools in certain cities with high density of Nepali Americans;

7. Advocating for issues of importance to the community members;

8. Lobbying the Congress for issues of interest to the community members and;

9. Lobbying the Congress for economic development and support of democracy in Nepal

NAPAC Past Activities:

1. Voter registration drive;

2. Periodic meetings with public figures (Congressmen, Senators and other public officials);

3. Summer internship in the Congress and the White House;

4. Organizing rallies in support of the Democratic Movement in Nepal;

5. Lobbying for congressional support for the Democratic Movement in Nepal;

6. Lobbying congressmen for facilitating resolution of immigration related issues in individual cases;

7. Organizing interaction program on topics of mutual interest in collaboration with US universities (Columbia, George Mason, Morgan);

8. Organizing workshops and programs to building community leadership;

9. Workshop on “How to lobby your Congressmen and Senators’ at the ANA and ANMA and NASeA conventions;

10. Linking communities with their congressmen in Baltimore and Philadelphia and;

11. Introducing visiting Nepali politicians with Congressmen and Senators.
